Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction roll out U.S. tour dates

Update: Now with the right dates! And trust us, these are the right ones!

In a little over two months, Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction will officially embark on what will be the road trip on the summer. The two-high profile outfits, one of which (NIN) will be capping off the end, while the other (Jane’s) will be celebrating a fresh start, have unveiled dates for a North American tour scheduled to kick off in early May 8th in West Palm Beach, Florida.

After the sunshine state, the 24-date trek will take the two bands west, highlighted by their previously announced appearance at this year’s Sasquatch! Music Festival on May 24th. Stops at just about everywhere follow – aside from Texas, meaning there are probably a still TBA dates – and all, except one will feature the co-headlining extravaganza of Trent Reznor and Perry Farrell.

The two exceptions? One will be a May 29th stop at Chicago’s Charter One Pavilion. The reasoning? Lollapalooza of course. With Jane’s Addiction all but confirmed to headline this year’s edition of the Chicago festival, it looks as if the band’s frontman is adhering to his festival’s strict clause. You know, the one that says bands can’t play within a 100 mile radius of Chi-Town within two months of a Lollapalooza? But since, NIN took the stage of Grant Park last year and is already booked to play Japan’s Summer Sonic the same weekend as Lolla ’09, Trent and Co. still needed a Chicago date. So, they’ll be going at it alone.

The other? This year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival; as of now, only NIN is scheduled to take part.

Ticket information is still forthcoming.

In related news, Jane’s Addiction also used this week to officially unveil details of a brand new box set. Scheduled for release on April 21st via Rhino Records, A Cabinet of Curiosities will offer a slew of previously unheard demos, rarities, and live performances across three CDs and one DVD. The latter will also include the previously unavailable documentary, Soul Kiss. Check out the full tracklist after the dates…
