Cursive offshoot The Good Life announces first album in eight years, Everybody’s Coming Down

On August 14th, Cursive frontman Tim Kasher will release a new album with his side-project, The Good Life. Everybody’s Coming Down, due out via Saddle Creek, serves as the band’s first LP in eight years following 2007’s Help Wanted Nights. The 12-track effort also comes after a number of Kasher’s other releases, including his 2013 solo record, Adult Film, and the reissue of Cursive’s Ugly Organ last October. That’s the artwork above.

According to a press statement, Everybody’s Coming Down plays out like a “soundtrack to Man’s 21st century existential angst,” which “poses cosmic queries, contemplates regrets, questions self-worth, and examines the possibility of living in the moment, when memories are all that we truly take with us.” Longtime engineer, producer, and collaborator Ben Brodin (First Aid Kit, Conor Oberst) helped record the album at ARC Studios in Omaha, Nebraska; it was later mixed by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen) in Dallas, Texas.

As a preview, The Good Life’s revealed “Everybody”, a chugging rock number streaked with squalling riffs. Check it out below.
