Last Tuesday, Ryan Adams & the Cardinals made a semi-surprise appearance at New York’s Cafe Select. While the eight-song acoustic set was essentially just a warm up for things to come, the performance’s off-the-cuff nature and intimate setting proved for one hell of a hour. While the concert was streamed online and a few fan made videos have since popped up, up until now, only the few lucky got a clear view of the scene at coffee shop on Tuesday afternoon.

However, thanks Cardinology.com’s new video player, the latest in Adams’ ever-growing list of internet toys, 28 minutes of pro-shot footage of the performance is now available online for all to take in. Albeit just half of the set – the video cuts off after a rendition of “Natural Ghost” – it’s better than nothing, and the high-quality nature of the footage offers up a few humorous moments that most never see from the Cardinals’ frontman outside of the creative writing on Foggy. Between the jokes, “we’re here to have lunch,” conversations with the crowd, and overabundance of smiles, Adams definitely appears to confirm his previous proclamations that his time with the Cardinals has made for a very happy musician. And considering his past, this is certainly a good thing to see.

Oh yeah, and plus the performance is awesome as well…
