Life is good for one of the Internet’s most successful do-it-yourself bands. Since unleashing I Am The Messer for free online back in August, Killola has watched its sophomore album be downloaded over 30,000 times, all while the L.A. natives have hit the road in both the U.K. and U.S. Oh yeah, and they’ve some how managed to garner 80,000 friends on MySpace in the process, which is perhaps the most unfathomable part of their early success.
Showing no signs of slowing down, Killola has unveiled another round of North American tour dates for early this year. Beginning in mid-January, the four-piece outfit will launch a self-booked two week tour on the west coast before hitching up with Semi Precious Weapons for a swing of dates in mid-March and an appearance at South by Southwest. Once that’s all said and done, the band will take to both the U.K. and U.S. for even more touring fun, but those particular dates are still forthcoming.
