What better way to celebrate a ruby anniversary (that’s 40 years for all you not in the know) than with a world tour. 40 years after making it big at Woodstock, Crosby, Stills & Nash have announced plans to spend the majority of the summer traveling throughout both North America and Europe as part of what is currently a two-month endeavor.

Reminiscent of the legendary trio’s “Freedom of Speech” tour in 2006, the fun will kick off in St. Louis in early June, with stops in Chicago, Boston and New York before ending a month later. A European leg follows two weeks later, and will be highlighted by an appearance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. A second U.S. leg is also said to be in the works.

The tour will coincide with the release of a brand new compilation from Crosby, Stills & Nash on June 2nd. Aptly entitled Crosby, Stills & Nash Demos, the record will feature a mix of early demos and rarities, including a demo version of “Marrakesh Express”. The band is also reportedly at work on a brand new studio album with producer Rick Rubin.

Not bad for a trio closing in on 70! Oh, and may I point out the current itinerary leaves room for an appearance at Woodstock ’09? Just saying…
