A new days, a new slew of festival news. Lets round up all the important info in todays edition of CoS Festivals in Brief:
Sunfest:
It certainly appears as if West Palm Beach’s Sunfest is giving Beale Street a run for its money for the summer’s most eclectic lineup. Thanks to its most recent additions, Slightly Stoopid, The Steve Miller Band, Sly and Robbie, Cold War Kids, and Jack’s Mannequin are currently set to join the previously announced 311, James Taylor, and David Cook for Sunfest ’09.
All Good Music Festival:
The All Good Music Festival continued its trend of all good additions. Umphrey’s McGee, Dark Star Orchestra, The Bridge, and Jackie Green are among the latest names taking to Masontown, West Virginia from July 10-12. However, add these with Ben Harper & Relentless 7, Bob Weir & Ratdog, moe., STS9, Les Claypol, and the other previously announced acts and All Good’s 2009 lineup currently features 24 performers. In other words, many more additions are still to come. Of course, if the festival is already all good enough for you, you can pick up weekend passes now via musictoday.com.
Gathering of the Vibes Music Festival:
Bridgeport, Connecticut will once again see a weekend worth of Gathering of the Vibes. That’s right, from July 23-26, the Grateful Dead inspired music festival will return for its 13th go around, and while this year’s newly announced lineup doesn’t include the recently united Dead – at least, yet – it does include moe., George Clinton and Parliment Funkadelic, Bob Weir & Ratdog, Perpetual Groove, and Levon Helm among others. Weekend and VIP camping passes are now available!
