I think I have officially crafted the most confusing news headline ever, so let me explain in the simplest way possible. Fischerspooner is a New York based electro duo. Entertainment is the name of said duo’s brand new studio album, due for release on May 5th via personal imprint FS Studios. “Phantasmagoric experiences” are what you will be apparently getting when Fischerspooner hits the road in May.

In support of the upcoming release, described as the latest chapter in the band’s “evolving experimental pop synthesis,” Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner have announced dates for the month-long “Between the Worlds” North American tour. And as alluded to above, it looks like it will be a tour for the ages…

“In conjunction with each album, Fischspooner develops a dynamic performance that theatrically realizes and furthers their creative concepts and ideas. Legend amongst outsider teenagers and sophisticated arts elite alike, the shows are renowned for their rich mix of art, dance, music and fashion. Hairy monsters, feathered chorus girls spitting blood, raucous new versions of their underground hits, and storms of glitter – a Fischspooner show is a phantasmagoric experience that is all the way live…

But wait, there’s more…

Longtime choreographer Vanessa Walters has created intricate and explosive dances that blend a vigorous future pop aesthetic with classical and modern technique. Musical director Ian Pai continues to trigger the Fischspooner song catalog, and new collaborator Andrew Schneider adds a new layer of detailed video art.”…

Still confused? It may be a good idea to head over to the band’s website, where you can watch a recent rehearsal video/get a taste of what is to come. Tickets for all upcoming dates go on sale beginning Friday, March 6th.
