In news that probably shouldn’t surprise anyone, Tool and The Killers are reportedly the final two headliners of Lollapalooza 2009, joining the previously leaked Jane’s Addiction, Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, and Kings of Leon. Of course, nothing is official, but according to Mr. Leaky Faucet himself, aka The Chicago Tribune‘s Greg Kot, “multiple industry sources confirmed” the much speculated rumors during last week’s South by Southwest.

Kot also goes on to note that The Decemebists and Lou Reed will also be included on this year’s bill, the latter of which jives with what Jim DeRogatis of The Chicago Sun-Times reported over the weekend, who also stated that Andrew Bird and Neko Case appear to be locks as well.

So what’s festival curator/frontman extraordinaire Perry Farrell have to say about all this? During a sit down with MTV over the weekend, the Jane’s Addiction head confirmed the headliners (at that point, only four had been leaked), but with a friendly reminder: “Lollapalooza now has six headliners, so there’s two they don’t now about. [Plus,] even the people who are playing before us are awesome, so no, I’m not too mad about it.” Oh yeah, and then there is this part:

“We have a lineup in the electronic world that’s a who’s who of electronic artists, and they don’t know anything about that, either,” Farrell added. “I kind of feel like Octomom, you know? Getting all this attention. Who cares?”

In other words, despite the fact that we apparently know 18 of the acts set to appear at this year’s Lollapalooza, we still have a long ways to go. Oh, and in case you were wondering on said acts:

Andrew Bird, Atmosphere, Beastie Boys, Ben Folds, The Decemberists, Delta Spirit, Depeche Mode, Friendly Fires, Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Jane’s Addiction, Lou Reed, The Ravonettes, Paul Green’s School of Rock All-Stars, Neko Case, TheNewNo2, Tool

P.S. Major props to Johnny J…
