The west coast gets another taste of Underworld

    This time last year, we were getting all giddy about the prospects of Underworld opening for Radiohead. While that didn’t end up happening, the English outfit did make its way to the U.S. last summer for a few performances, something, which as it now turns out, will be repeated again this year when Underworld returns for another round of tour dates without Thom Yorke and company.

    Centered around the band’s upcoming headlining appearance at this summer’s HARD Summer Festival, the duo of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith will embark on a five-date North American tour beginning August 6th in Las Vegas. Following said festival appearance and a date in San Francisco, Underworld heads east for two Canadian stops in Montreal and Toronto. And after that, well, that’s it for now, though there is a certain Baltimore music festival that often features its share of electro acts and often takes place around that time that has yet-to-announce it’s 2009 lineup, so you never know…
