Telefon Tel Aviv keeps ringing

    Any band that loses a key member generally reacts in one of two ways: its members encounter a void that they quickly fill, emotionally and literally, or they unintentionally allow the pain of the loss to fester. In the case of duos, this tragic occasion is several times more shocking. So imagine what Joshua Eustis, member of the electronic group Telefon Tel Aviv, felt in the aftermath of the death of his band’s other half, Charles Cooper, from what has been ruled as an overdose.

    Eustis has taken inspiring actions since then. The group’s third album, Immolate Yourself, came out in February as scheduled. In addition, Eustis has made it clear he’s not content to spend his days mourning in solitude: with the accompaniment of longtime friend of the band and occasional co-songwriter, Fredo Nogueira, he has plans for another trek across North America (via Brooklyn Vegan). The new incarnation of Telefon Tel Aviv will hit up cities such as Austin, Montreal, Seattle, and Brooklyn, so be sure to check it out. Below are the tour dates:
