The King Khan & BBQ Show return with Invisible Girl

King Khan is the alias of Montreal based garage rocker Blacksnake, formerly of the Spaceshits. Depending on who’s playing with him, he’ll release and tour as King Khan and the Shrines, The King Khan & BBQ Show, and The Almighty Defenders.

Since King Khan and the Shrines recently wrapped up a U.S. tour and The Almighty Defenders have already announced plans for their debut LP, it’d be safe to assume King Khan is now devoting his attention to the BBQ Show… an assumption that will prove accurate when the band releases its newest album.

Called Invisible Girl and due for release on November 3rd via In The Red, the album promises to feature “12 songs loaded with kicks” and tells “a love story of hate.” According to Pitchfork, “straight-up garage stompers,” “discordant psych-rock guitar” and “intriguing traces of doo-wop” are among the sounds that will be heard. In other words, you’re standard King Khan & BBQ style.

The King Khan & BBQ Show plan to tour in support of the release beginning in late October, but no dates have been officially announced.

Also don’t forget, on September 22nd, King Khan + the Black Lips will release the aforementioned The Almighty Defenders.
