Le Loup readies new LP Family with US tour to boot

Three years ago, Sam Simkoff was in his basement making tunes on his computer and posting them up on MySpace. After getting contacted by several record labels, Simkoff realized he couldn’t do this alone. He quickly posted an ad on Craigslist and soon found himself holding auditions in his living room. It didn’t take long for him to find the bandmates that make up the current Le Loup lineup. Simkoff and crew took the tracks he had already composed and turned them into Le Loup’s debut LP, The Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations’ Millenium General Assembly, which was released on Hardly Art toward the end of 2007.

Here we are two years later and Le Loup is now ready to follow up with its new LP, Family. Instead of Simkoff doing all the writing this time around, much like the album title suggests, it was a collaborative effort. The 11-track sophomore release ended up with a more organic feel, which is clearly the right direction for Le Loup to head.

Be sure to check out “Beach Town” below while you wait for Family to be released by Hardly Art on September 22nd.
