Melvins detail remix album, Chicken Switch

Having always done things their own way, Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover of the seminal grunge rock group Melvins do just that with their long talked about remix album. Luckily for us it’s a classic case of under promise and over deliver.

Osborne and Crover put together a roster of the top experimental producers that include Matmos, Merzbow, Eye Yamatsuke and gave each of them an open ended task; Take one of our albums, and have at it. If that wasn’t enough, the remixers also had complete control over naming each of their recreations.

The end result Chicken Switch is a 15 track effort with track names such as “She Chokes Her Dying Breath and Does It In My Face” and “The Silky Apple Butter of Youth”. Mike Patton’s Ipecac records will release the album on September 29th.
