The Who’s Roger Daltrey will cross the Atlantic this October for what will be his first North American tour since 1985. The tour, billed “Use It Or Lose It,” will consist of 29 dates and will enable the 65-year-old musician, as he told Billboard.com, “to keep my voice in trim, so I’ll be ready” for when his main outfit is ready to hit the road again.

Now that we know the real reason for him coming here, let’s move on to the details. The tour kicks off on October 10th in Vancouver and runs through November before ending on the 30th in Clearwater, Florida. Accompanying him on the engagements will be Pete Townshend’s younger brother Simon Townshend (on guitar), along guitarist and musical director Frank Simes, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Scott Devours. The set will include from Daltrey’s nine solo albums, covers, and Who favorites.

Pre-sale tickets for the dates will go on sale beginning Wednesday, August 5th via Ticketmaster.com.

As for the aforementioned act he’s keeping his voice “trimmed” for? While there are no specific plans to report, Daltrey went on to tell Billboard that a new Who album isn’t out of the question.
