The man called Usher, who some might call the reigning prince of pop R&B, is about to release a Monster. And we ain’t talking no chupacabra.

The followup to 2008’s Here I Stand, Monster was originally scheduled for an October release. Thanks to a heads up from Toya’s World, the album will feature the ever cordial Ne-Yo, Jermaine Dupri, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, and of course, Pharrell Williams.

The album also promises to be something new and something borrowed. In an interview with People magazine, Mr. Raymond said the album will be “racy, risky, and edgy” and should include some personal drama stemming from his divorce from Tameka Foster. Think the situation from Confessions just with TLC goddess Rozonda “Chili” Thomas.

Monster is out December 8th on LaFace. Expect the first single in late September.
