Any doubts that the band known as Oasis would continue being known as Oasis following the departure of founding member Noel Gallagher last month have been put to rest.

Speaking with The Times of London, in an interview which was supposed to be about his new clothing label Pretty Green (seriously), brother and ex-bandmate Liam Gallagher officially declared Oasis dead.

“Well, Oasis is no longer. I think we all know that. So that’s done,” Gallagher explained. “It’s a shame, but that’s life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is no-one… we ended Oasis. No-one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of… cool. I’m thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind’s on.”

And while he did not outright say it, Gallagher did go on to convey the idea that he would continue with his Oasis bandmates while Noel pursues a solo career.

“People will be able to buy his records. People will be able to buy our records. So everyone’s happy.”

For the rest of Liam’s comments, which are most ramblings about fashion and this season’s collection (it’s exclusively black and white but next spring the palette gets more adventurous), hit up The Times.
