Musician/DJ/producer Bassnectar is preparing to hit the road next month for a nationwide tour in support of his latest record, Cozza Frenzy.
The San Francisco-born Lorin Ashton will start off in his home state before spending half of February traveling up and down the West Coast. After a six-week break, he’ll move eastward through all the major markets before ending this current leg in New Orleans on May 1st.
Ashton released his eighth full-length album, which includes collaborations with Fever Ray, Zumbi of Zion I, and Capital J, this past October. It took the artist three years to glue together the dubstep, electronica, and hip hop that made up the majority of the record.
“I wanted to express something emotionally visceral; reflective of the different shades of sonic mania I feel,” Ashton said on his website. “I don’t care if something is hip or trendy or not, I just want to give strength to the feelings … this is music for people.”
