Over the weekend, we offered a list of the upcoming Haiti Benefit Concerts. Here’s an update on perhaps the biggest of them all:
During Sunday’s Golden Globes, actor George Clooney confirmed that U2’s Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Alicia Keys are among the stars to set to perform at the upcoming “Hope for Haiti” telethon.
The event, which will be hosted by Clooney, musician Wyclef Jean, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper, who will also be reporting from Haiti, will be shown on more than a dozen broadcast and cable networks on Friday, January 22nd from 7 to 9 p.m. The proceeds raised will benefit several charities, including the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam America, Partners in Health and Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation.
Songs from the participating artists will also be available on iTunes, with proceeds going to the relief effort. In total, some 40 celebrities are expected to appear during the telethon.
So tune in and give what you can, folks.
