A few weeks back, we mentioned that Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings would be releasing their fourth full-length record, I Learned the Hard Way, this coming May. Now, for reasons (formally) unknown, the record’s release has been pushed forward almost an entire month, now hitting stores on April 6th. It’s possible that this abrupt move forward may have something to do with Sharon Jones’ recent announcement that she’ll be appearing on Saturday Night Live this weekend, on January 30, alongside superstar Michael Buble, a performance that will surely draw in an even larger fan base for Jones’ throwback band to classic 1950s soul.

Jones and Buble have announced they will be performing the song “Baby (You’ve Got What It Takes)” from Buble’s latest album Crazy Love, and we can only expect this duet to be even more dazzling, jazzy, and soulful than its original with Jones in tow.

As for other news regarding Jones and the rest of the Dap Kings, the remarkable 10-piece band plans to perform a few shows in the New York area before embarking on a U.S. tour in support of I Learned the Hard Way. We should expect to see more detailed information on this as well as a list of confirmed dates in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out currently confirmed stops below.
