Recently, The Morning Benders released their first single, entitled “Promises”, in support of their forthcoming album, Big Echo, via iTunes. In support of its release on March 9th via Rough Trade Records, the indie-pop foursome from Berkeley, CA will embark on its first proper headlining U.S. tour following the release.
If The Shins and Arcade Fire had a baby, it would sound something like “Promises”. Led by a simplistic and repetitive rhythm guitar, “Promises” is filled with soothing drums, a distant piano melody, and echoing vocals. For a limited time only, the song will be available as a free download off the band’s website. And those who purchase the 7” vinyl pressing of “Promises” on February 23rd will also receive an unreleased B-side of “Oh Annie”. To make matters even more exciting, all pre-orders of Big Echo purchased through InSound will ship with an exclusive 7” of the non-album track “Go Grab A Stranger” and another B-side entitled “Cold War (Wallpaper Remix)”.
