Good news on the Weezer front: Rivers Cuomo is good to go! As the band recently revealed on its website, the Weezer frontman has been cleared to return to his active duties following the December bus crash: “Rivers’ recovery has gone very well, and he is feeling up to rock and roll once again.”
Cuomo will make his post-accident debut next Wednesday, January 20th at Florida State University. And just to add to the anticipation, the school’s student body, who won a T-Mobile contest to get the one-off show, has been promised many special surprises, including a DJ set from Jermaine Dupri. Can’t Stop Partying! Currently, Rivers and Co. have no other scheduled dates until a May 2nd appearance at The Bamboozle, but with those postponed shows needing to be made up, expect more dates in the pipeline shortly.
In equally cool news, the band has provided a few more details about that much anticipated reissue of Pinkerton, as well as new compilation titled Odds and Ends. Both releases are expected to be released “before or by spring the way it looks now. For both, its mostly down to the details like sequencing and finishing up the packaging etc.”
Weezer has also announced that Ratitude‘s second single, “I’m Your Daddy” will arrive shortly. They’re also apparently working on a song for the next Shrek film. Raditude, indeed.
