With the 2010 edition of South by Southwest set to commence in less than a month, rumors of this year’s surprise heavyweights are starting to run rampant. We got one confirmation earlier today, after Scott Weiland revealed that Stone Temple Pilots will preview their new LP with an appearance in Austin. CoS has learned that Muse will also perform during the week, while the whispers on the street indicate Soundgarden and Mötley Crüe may appear, too. Based on last year’s announcements, however, we probably won’t know anything officially for a while.
The music portion of South by Southwest is scheduled to run from March 17-21 in Austin, TX. Lots of other bands are already announced. [Queue shameless plug for CoS + Sled Island day party and remind readers we have two more announcements to come!]
