Beyond the fact that the forthcoming major motion picture Scott Pilgrim vs. The World stars perhaps the greatest actor in modern movie history, aka Michael Cera, we’re even more psyched because the film’s soundtrack features original material from the likes of Beck, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Cornelius, and Dan The Automator. I guess the only downside is the film’s August 13th release date, which is still a long ways off. Fortunately for us, however, the filmmakers have dropped an early taste of the musical stylings to come.

Two of Mr. Beck Hansen’s contributions were partially debuted today courtesy of the film’s newly unveiled trailer. Albeit just short snippets, the Playlist confirms that the two songs heard in the trailer are both new Beck songs, both originally written for the film. Song #1 looks to be an acoustic number, while song #2 sounds crazy, chaotic, and heavy. Kind of like Beck’s other new number.

And if all that wasn’t a good enough reason to check out the trailer below, did we mention you get to watch Micahael Cera get to kick ass. Yeah. Click. Play. Now.
