Today, Godsmack, the rock band that soundtracked a Mummy spin-off and a Navy promo clip, marks the release of the band’s fifth full-length LP, The Oracle. To celebrate an arsenal that bears such raucous fare as “Whiskey Hangover” and “Cryin’ Like A Bitch”, Godsmack has delightfully allotted our dearest staff here at CoS a giveaway of their entire catalog, all to one lucky reader.
If you need a kick in the head to jar your memory, the Massachusetts quartet — which consists of members Sully Erna, Tony Rombola, Shannon Larkin, and Robbie Merrill — rose to fame in 1998 with their eponymous debut, scoring major hits with “Whatever”, “Keep Away”, and “Voodoo”. Since then, however, the band has released four studio albums, an acoustic EP (The Other Side), and a greatest hits collection, which features a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Good Times, Bad Times”. Fans should be ecstatic with the release of The Oracle, as critics already call it a heavier effort than their recent work, namely IV and Faceless.
