Farewell tours are rarely farewell, but they do provide a career spanning concerts that play to both hardcore and casual fans alike. They also are a mandatory requirement for a comeback or reunion tour, which The Go-Go’s better hustle-up on or they will be singing ”We Got The Beat” from rocking chairs when they decide to return. But honestly, at least they lasted long enough to see Hilary Duff cover their song. Because everyone knows you haven’t made it until someone completely void of talent makes money off your song.
Dubbed Happily Ever After – The Farewell Tour, the surprisingly short trek will feature a couple dates with Lilith Fair as well as a couple weeks of headlining shows on both coasts and a Texas finale. Fans will be treated to all five original members: Sporty, Scary…err… Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock (It’s pronounced Jina) and Kathy Valentine. Tickets are on sale starting today, so jokes aside, be sure to get good seat for these pioneers of rock ‘n roll for what may be the last time.
