Fans cleared the way as Earl Greyhound crashed through Washington D.C.’s celebrated 930 Club this past Wednesday. The band’s sound, which occasionally draws comparisons to Zeppelin, really earned the crowd’s trust. They came, they devoured, they conquered.
What’s more, most — if not all — in attendance hadn’t even heard of this Brooklyn trio. This was a crowd desperately waiting for OK Go, who played an equally impressive set, and somehow (we’ll blame it on the raucous rock) Earl Greyhound delivered a pleasantly surprising set to a host of new fans. You usually can tell when a band’s won the crowd, mostly from chatter. Given the straggly hair tossed about, the thunderous applause, and the deafening roar after each tune, it’s safe to say Earl Greyhound will return to the nation’s capital fairly soon.
