With their debut record Le Pop still set for release on June 1st, the feisty banjo throwing, floor stomping, kooky troup of ladies otherwise known as Katzenjammer have just announced the first leg of their upcoming U.S. summer tour. Kicking off on June 22nd, these sassy females have plotted out an exciting list of dates for both the west and east coasts, and will additionally be making an appearance at this year’s Summerfest. And let’s not forget that they’ll be tagging along for a few select performances of this summer’s unique traveling Lilith Fair tour as well!
Katzenjammer is truly a sight to see; mixing together a funky collection of genres including klezmer, country, rockabilly, and jazz. Tossing instruments back and forth, the band’s raucous sets include rotations of up to 29 instruments, of which all of these ladies are self-taught, including the tuba, balalaika bass, drums, harmonica, piano, banjo, mandolin, melodica, trumpet, accordion, guitar, kazoo and the glockenspiel!
