Marketing 101: If you’re going to play multiple dates in one city, don’t announce them all at once. Instead, wait for one to go on sale and then, once it sells out, quickly announce another… and then another. This way, you have scenarios like the following go down:
“Ooooh… Roger Waters is revisiting the Pink Floyd 1972 1979 classic The Wall on an upcoming North America tour. And what’s this tickets are now on sale? Let me go buy. Fuck… they’re already soldout! Wait, what’s this, another date? What a nice guy this Roger Waters is! I better hurry up and buy tickets before they sell out. After all, how likely is it for him to do us another favor and add a third date?” (And rinse and repeat).
So, with this in mind, let’s not be surprised to learn Mr. Waters has added eight more dates to his upcoming tour, with cities like Toronto, New York, Boston, Montreal, and Ft. Lauderdale getting extra nights. Update: New dates for Chicago, Philadelphia, LA, and Anaheim also added. Find all the new additions in bold.
