The Dead Weather announces tour; Jack White

It’s the band that keeps on giving. On the same day The Dead Weather is set to take to Third Man Records to perform its new record, Sea of Cowards, in its entirety (don’t forget to tune in starting at 5:00 pm CST!), Jack White’s crew has also announced plans for another leg of U.S. tour dates.

Starting on July 12th, following an appearance at the Bonnaroo and Glastonbury music festivals, The Dead Weather will embark on the 15-date leg. In the days that follow, the band will travel across the country, hitting up Toronto, Chicago, Billings (Montana), and possibly the Capitol Hill Block Party along the way. They’ll then wrap it all up on August 3rd with an appearance at Celebrate Brooklyn in Prospect Park.

Tickets for the newly announced dates go on sale starting Friday, May 7th via

In other Jack White but non-Dead Weather related news, the music god recently reaffirmed the idea of music’s most potentially mind-numbing collaboration by telling the Times Online (via TFB) that he would “love to” work on an album with Jay-Z. In fact, according to White, he and Hova are set to reconvene “in a few weeks” at the Third Man record studios.

Of course, all this follows White’s other recent revelation that he’d like to revive The White Stripes. Seriously, Jack, at least give us some time to take it all in.
