The “old” Taking Back Sunday announces new album, tour

That’s it. Call it a comeback. Taking Back Sunday is officially hitting the road to flaunt its newly reunited, “old” lineup. The news caps off a whirlwind of rumors following the departure of long time members Matt Rubano and Matthew Fazzi earlier this year.

While the tour will travel a very short road (five stops in the Northeast and one in L.A.) fans can still rejoice since TBS has also confirmd that it is writing new material in Texas. (See the video below)

The band’s new album will be recorded in Los Angeles with Eric Valentine at the controls. Valentine also produced the band’s 2006 album, Louder Now, and while the old lineup may be back together, don’t expect the album to be Tell All Your Friends: Part Two.

Frontman Adam Lazzara told MTV news that “having John and Shaun back in the band has nothing to do with any of the old records — it has everything to do with being happy,” he said,” because if things kept going the way they were going, there wouldn’t have been another record at all.”
