PUJOL announces new EP on Saddle Creek

Nashville rocker Daniel Pujol and his surnamed project PUJOL may not be familiar to everyone, but the up and comer has some pretty famous friends/supporters. After releasing efforts via Infinity Cat Records, the label of JEFF the Brotherhood’s Jake and Jamin Orrall, PUJOL issued last year’s Black Rabbit 7″ via Jack White’s Third Man Records. Now, PUJOL will add another elite name to its list of backers when the outfit delivers the Nasty, Brutish, and Short EP via Conor Oberst’s Saddle Creek Records on Ocotber 18th.

The EP will be the project’s 10th release in two or so years. Known for a Southern fried punk noise, PUJOL also knows how to show off the brains of its leader. According to press for the effort, “Nasty, Brutish, and Short focuses on fragmentation, compartmentalization, and the idea of cultural maxims dominating the individual’s ability to vocalize and interact with the external world.” Or, according to Pujol himself in relatively simpler terms, the EP tells the tale of the “loudest person’s language,” which “only resembles truth because a lot of people heard it simultaneously.” It’s still gonna kick ass though, right?

And if the support of White, the brothers Orrall, and Oberst weren’t enough, PUJOL will be touring behind Ted Leo & the Pharmacists later this fall. Check out those tour dates below, along with the Stewart Copeland (yes, that Stewart Copeland) directed video for “Black Rabbit”. Christ, is there anyone this guy doesn’t know?
