Last night, Jimmy Fallon introduced another group of young artists worth planting on your radar, this time in the form of Perth, Australia’s Tame Impala. With Saturday’s Music To Know Festival canceled, the psych-rock four piece made the most of their trip to New York by swinging through Fallon for their live television debut. During the performance of “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?”, off 2010’s Innerspeaker, a shoeless Kevin Parker kept busy at his massive effects board, helping create a space-y, distortion-heavy groove. Even with all the buttons and dials, the reverberated melody wasn’t possible without the bottom end courtesy of drummer Jay “Gumby” Watson and bassist Nick “Paisley Adams” Allbrook.
