Video: VHS or Beta – “Breaking Bones”

Epileptics should not watch this video from Brooklyn-based duo, VHS or Beta. The four-minute, Graham Hill-directed clip opens in a subtle fashion, but the whole thing explodes into brilliant flashes of light by the time the first chorus kicks in. It’s the visual accompaniment for our second taste of the band’s first album in four years, Diamonds and Death, and it also manages to stay suitable for work by turning what would be NSFW images of bare flesh into rainbow-colored static. Check it out below.

The band has also announced a round of tour dates with UK electrogaze outfit Ladytron. The first date of their joint tour happens on October 3rd when the bands hit the Fine Line Music Café in Minneapolis, MN, and from there, the itinerary takes them throughout the Northeast (with two stops in Canada) before ending in Miami on October 15th. Former Nine Inch Nails member Alessandro Cortini – who now performs under the moniker SONOIO – also joins the bill for all dates, and stops are listed below.

Diamonds and Death arrives September 27th via Krian Music Group/Chromosome Records.
