CMJ Music Marathon unveils full 2011 lineup

    In less than a month, the 31st annual CMJ Music Marathon will showcase the future of music and film when it takes over 75 of New York City’s venues between October 18th and 22nd. On the music side, acts like Wild Flag, Portugal. the Man, Neon Indian, CSS, and Kendrick Lamar led the initial lineup announcement, and now the festival has unveiled the rest — and there’s a lot.

    Among the newest notables are Islands, Twin Shadow, Caveman, Weekend, Cerebral Ballzy, Hollerado, Turbo Fruits, Wise Blood, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Braids, Active Child, aarabMUZIK, Eternal Summers, Gross Magic, Grimes, Japanther, Suckers, The Death Set, Zambri, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and Frankie Rose & the Outs.

    Other highlights include Mr. Dream, Trash Talk, Cassettes Won’t Listen, Crocodiles, ANR, Canon Logic, D’eon, Locksley, Emil & Friends, Funeral Suits, Jenny Owens Young, Look Mexico, Shout Out Out Out Out, The Japanese Popstars, Xylos, Exitmusic, Gauntlet Hair, and The Pass.     CMJ 2011 badges are now available for purchase on the festival’s website. Along with the ‘Full’ and ‘VIP’, this year also offers the ‘CMJ Showpass,’ which allows access to all CMJ Music Marathon showcases and Film Festival screenings.
