This weekend, the fifth annual Treasure Island Music Festival will bring the finest in electronica (Empire of the Sun, Cut Copy, Chromeo) and alt-rock (Death Cab For Cutie, Beach House, and Stephen Malkmus) to San Francisco’s breath-taking Treasure Island. Basically, it tops anything you have planned for this weekend — that is unless you’re actually going to the festival — so let’s have some spontaneous fun.
Starting right now (aka 12:00 p.m. PST), you have 24 hours to justify why you should go to Treasure Island 2011. It can be an original song expressing your love for the festival and/or CoS, or maybe an arial show in which you write the festival’s name in the sky. Anything works, really, just as long as you don’t light yourself on fire and/or get arrested. Also, make sure to document your efforts in either written, photo, or video form. Then, at 12 p.m. PST Tuesday, we’ll select one winner, who will then receive a pair of two-day passes to this weekend’s festival.
For those who don’t prove successful, one-day and two-day passes for Treasure Island 2011 remain on sale via the festival’s website.
