Tom Petty announces Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive: Kiss My Amps (Live)

There’s something vaguely analog about Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Songs like “American Girl” or “You Got Lucky” just don’t sound the same on iPods as they do on vinyl players. The Gainesville rockers tend to agree – at least if their latest effort is any indication. Titled Kiss My Amps (Live), the Heartbreakers’ forthcoming seven-track live LP is a vinyl-only release, exclusive to independent retailers and limited to 5,000 numbered copies (via The Daily Swarm). It’s all a part of Record Store Day Black Friday, which takes place on November 25th.

Culled from last year’s North American tour, the LP features six tracks off the group’s latest effort, Mojo, including one of its B-sides titled, “Sweet William”. Consult the tracklist below, along with a video of the band performing “Takin’ My Time” at the Palace of Auburn Hills in July 2010.
