On Sunday night, Passion Pit returned to close the outdoor Animoog Playground stage at Moogfest 2011, performing a string of hits for an hour and a half. In addition to favorites like “The Reeling”, “Little Secrets”, and “Sleepyhead”, the Cambridge quintet tested two new songs on the highly danceable Asheville crowd. Frontman Michael Angelakos introduced the first cut as “American Blood”, and following the performance he admitted they’d only tried it three times. Later on, during the encore, Angelakos dove head first into a new, yet-to-be-titled track, which works off this M83-like energy. Judging from the song’s chorus of “I took a walk…”, we’re willing to bet the title’s not too far from that. Listen to the two tracks below (admittedly, not of the best audio quality), and check back soon for our full coverage of Moogfest 2011.
