Voodoo Experience unveils 2011 set times

The 13th annual Voodoo Experience goes down in three weeks time, October 28-30th, at New Orleans’ City Park. Over the weekend, the festival unveiled this year’s set times in real time via its social network platforms, and we have the results listed below.

The recently reunited Soundgarden will headline day one, following main stage sets from My Chemical Romance and Band of Horses. Other Friday notables include Major Lazer and Steve Angello, both of who will be playing at Le Plur, while Fitz & the Tantrums will hit Le Carnival at 5:15. In fact, aside from half-a-set crossovers between Fitz & the Tantrums and Band of Horses and Band of Horses and Major Lazer, there are many conflicts to speak of.

Saturday, however, is a bit more busy, with Blink-182’s headlining set overlapping some 45 minutes with Girl Talk’s throwdown at Le Plur. Interestingly enough, two of the festival’s biggest hip-hop acts, Snoop Dogg and Kreayshawn, will go head to head in the 7 o’clock hour, sets which also overlap with that of the recently reunited X. At least the early part of the day is relatively conflict free, so you should no problems seeing Boots Electric, Mastodon, and Social Distortion wreck havoc on the main stage.

The festival’s final day feature three must see sets on the main stage: Odd Future, TV on the Radio, and The Raconteurs. Unfortunately, there are also a few nasty conflicts, with TV on the Radio pitted against A-Trak and Portugal. the Man, and The Racontuers playing opposite Fatboy Slim to close the festival. Ray Davies’ 4:15 set also overlap a bit with Portugal. the Man’s.

Below, you can find the day-by-day schedule in its entirety. And if you have any comments and/or gripes, you’re more than welcome to share them in the comments section.

Three-day and VIP passes for Voodoo 2011 remain on sale via the festival’s website.
