The worlds of indie rock and vampire-based serials continued its ongoing love affair on Thursday night, with My Morning Jacket guest starring on an episode of CW’s The Vampire Diares. We don’t watch the program, so we’re not sure who “Tyler” is or why the Kentucky rockers are performing at “a wake,” but hey, news is news, right?
In the episode, the band performed three tracks from their latest LP, Circuital: ”Holdin’ On To Black Metal”, “First Light”, and “You Wanna Freak Out”. If you’re worried your favorite band is now a part of the underworld, fret no more. As Rolling Stone reports, frontman Jim James commented on filming the episode, stating, “All of the vampires and werewolves we met on the set of The Vampire Diaries were nice regular folks just like most of us – good upstanding citizens, but forced to live with this secret tragic double-life dilemma. They treated us most fairly and with dignity and respect as they sucked our bodily fluids dry and smothered us in sexy kisses. God bless them. God bless them all.” Whoa, close call, pal.
