Update: Check out the recently-released uncensored version of the video. Now with 100% more carnage!
Fireworks evoke a feeling of awe and patriotism. That is, of course, unless you’re Rhode Island folk rockers Deer Tick, who use the sky flowers to express more primitive sentiments in the music video for “Main Street”. The clip sees the band rocking out in slow-motion at night (complete with sunglasses) while fireworks are shot at the band, resulting in a cringe-worthy crotch shot to keyboardist Rob Crowell. Eventually, the group create their own explosion by ripping apart and burning down the cardboard stage that bears their name (read into that on your own time, armchair psychologists). Check out the wanton destruction below (via MTV Hive). And remember, God bless America and God bless rock and roll.
Deer Ticks latest LP, Divine Providence, is out now via Partisan Records.
