Since reuniting in 2002, post-punk legends Mission of Burma have released three albums, the most recent being 2009’s The Sound the Speed the Light. On July 9th, the band will return with their fifth album, Unsound, which will be released by their new label Fire Records (the band parted ways with Matador earlier this year).
The album’s opening track, “Dust Devil”, is a ramshackle mess of mumbled vocals, twangy, mutated guitars, and heavy-handed drums; essentially, it’s the musical personification of a true dust devil. Stream it below (via Pitchfork).
