Florida’s Orlando Calling Music Festival will not return in 2012. As the festival’s Facebook page states: “Unfortunately Orlando Calling will not be happening this year, but we are continuing to have discussions in the city to see if there is an opportunity to bring it back in 2013. We will keep you updated on any developments.”
Launched in 2011 by Reading and Leeds promotor Festival Republic, the inaugural Orlando Calling chose to split up its two-day lineup by genre, with the first day featuring rock and indie acts (including The Killers, The Raconteurs, Pixies, The Avett Brother, and Kid Cudi) and the second day featuring classic rock and country acts (including Bob Seger, Kid Rock, and Blake Shelton.)
With the news, Orlando Calling joins Langerado and Harvest of Hope as Florida-based music festivals which have been canceled in recent years.
