Lucas MacFadden, aka Cut Chemist, returns today with his first new song in six years. Titled “Outro (Revisited)”, the hard-chugging cut surges ahead with a lo-fi metal aesthetic, courtesy of The Mars Volta’s Deantoni Parks and Weapon of Choice’s Lonnie Marshall, leaving MacFadden and LA rapper Blackbird to surf side by side. ”I had a strong urge to run so I made a song that made me feel like I was being chased,” MacFadden tells RollingStone.com, where you can currently stream the track.
“Outro (Revisited)” serves as the lead single off Cut Chemist’s upcoming LP, Die Cut. Stay tuned for more details, including a release date.
