Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. announce sophomore album, The Speed Of Things

Detroit indie-pop duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. will return with their sophomore album, The Speed Of Things, on October 8th via Warner Bros. Records. The follow-up to 2011’s It’s A Corporate World was self-produced and largely inspired by today’s current internet-obsessed world.

“It’s a record that means a great deal to us, as it focuses on the size and speed of the world today,” the band explains in a press release. “Everything is moving faster and faster as we are all much more connected by the global central nervous system that is the internet. Often it feels like when one realizes what they wish to do, it’s impossible to know where to begin due to the scale of everything. We’re a generation of false starts.”

The new LP features 13 songs, including two we’re already familiar with — “If You Didn’t See Me (Then You Weren’t On The Dancefloor)” and “Hiding” — thanks to the band’s Patterns EP released earlier this year.
