Dubstep producer extraordinaire Bassnectar flexes his remixing muscles on another unlikely track, Nina Simone’s timeless “Feeling Good”. Here, he amps up not only the volume of the original, but also the dramatics infusing the rework with thunderous drops, rattling trap-style beats, and enough booming, swinging brass to blow off any nearby rooftops. You might want to hold onto your hats (and whip out those jazz hands!) for this one.
The track is taken off of Verve Remixed: The First Ladies, a compilation album featuring female-fronted jazz classics re-imagined by various EDM producers. The 13-song collection is officially due out July 16th, but is already streaming in full here.
