Chicago’s The Orwells will return with their second EP of 2013, Who Needs You, on September 10th via East End/Canvasback. Similar to June’s Other Voices EP, TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek produced the four-track effort’s titular single. While Sitek’s presence has undoubtedly roped in some of the band’s earlier, grimier tendencies, the band still delivers a visceral blast of angst-ridden garage rock.
The EP’s other tracks include “rip-offs” of Black Lips (!) and Misfits (!!) songs, plus a live version of the Remember When single “Halloween All Year”.
