Listen to "Comrade", new single from Justin Vernon's Volcano Choir

Justin Vernon’s experimental side-project, Volcano Choir, returns today with “Comrade”, the second track off the outfit’s sophomore album, Repave. Similar to the overall arc of “Byegone”, this latest track begins life as a slow-burning ballad of whispered vocals and warm piano before rapidly blossoming into cascade of lush, multi-tier harmonies and folklorico guitar. Just one question, though, gang: what exactly does “the honey bin/the bunny’s in” really mean? Contemplate as you watch an accompanying visualizer below (featuring footage from Vernon’s own April Base Studios).

Repave is due out September 3rd via Jagjaguwar. The band has a string of supporting tour dates scheduled for that month. Consult their full schedule below.
