Suave Londoner Sam Smith continues to release new material in anticipation of his forthcoming debut EP, due out this fall through PMR Records. “Nirvana”, which follows last month’s electro-pop soother “Safe With Me”, isn’t an homage to Kurt Cobain’s crew. Rather, it finds the singer serenading his lady with a blissed-out, late-night ode to their love. This new soul-pleasing cut — heck, even just the way Smith’s melting vocals croon, “Oh, baby, oh, baby” — showcases his sensual abilities and further highlights not only his talent as a solo artist, but his growing place in today’s neo-R&B field.
