Listen to Sebadoh's new single, "State of Mine"

Lou Barlow’Sebadoh returns today with the second single off their first full-length album in 14 years, Defend Yourself, due out September 17th via Joyful Noise. “State of Mine” moves away from the loud, quiet, loud dynamic of “I Will”, beginning as a bouncy bit of garage-rock before treading ever so slightly into alt-country territory, courtesy of Barlow’s down-in-the-dumps vocals. And with lyrics exploring a persistent inability to act and fears that “failure is a state of mine,” the existential, indie-fied country ballad could make even Charlie Louvin feel a lil’ blue. Listen in below.
