Listen to Zola Jesus's new song, "Fall Back"

As previously reported, Nika Roza Danilova, aka Zola Jesus, recently teamed up with industrial producer JG Thirlwell for Versions, a collection of Zola Jesus originals reworked into classical string arrangements. Among the nine orchestral remakes, including the melancholy “Avalanche (Slow)”, is a lone new track entitled “Fall Back”. Gone are the more abstract, free-form tendencies, as Danilova forges a deliberate and borderline poppy love song. Over the incessant pitter-patter of drums and the sweeping waves of strings, she tenderly moans, “I would do anything to be the one with you”, reaching new levels of vulnerability and sincerity with little more than subtle inflection. Listen in below.

Versions is due out August 20th via Sacred Bones Records. Pre-orders are ongoing.
